Prospect House balances old and new, tucking a new addition around two sides of an established Victorian-era cottage. The new structure establishes its own identity while sitting respectfully alongside the heritage building. The verandah of the addition continues the rhythm of posts and beams found in the original cottage, subtly creating a visual dialogue between old and new.

The new addition has a flat roof, allowing the original cottage to retain prominence and reinforcing its presence in the streetscape. A clear delineation between the two eras is maintained, with the in-between space serving as both a threshold and the new entry point—bridging past and present. To the rear, the addition opens to the northern sun, with a pitched roof floating above solid rammed earth and timber walls. An operable servery connects the kitchen to the garden, expressing a deep appreciation for outdoor living and productive landscapes. The new addition brings a cohesive, light-filled sequence of open spaces that celebrate both memory and materiality
